Updates from Mozq

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that the script for the first episode of the show I'm making is finished. Last night we all got into a call and discussed it and made a few minor changes, but we all agreed it's quality stuff.

Soon the editing will begin, as soon as we can all manage to get on the server and set the shots up. It'll still take a while, since we decided if we're going to do it we might as well make sure it's good stuff, editing and storywise. Bring back machinimas to what it used to be!

In the meantime I've been playing around with a new intro for all my videos. Not quite sure where to go with it, but I'm sure I'll figure something out as soon as some inspiration kicks in.

We shall see!

Till next time, stay tuned.

Update from Mozq

And there shall be three!

I figured I owe you guys and update on what's going on from my side. Well I recently caught a cold, the most annoying one at that. I barely got any sleep for 14 days, so I never had the energy to work on anything besides school stuff. Other than small ideas and adjustment for the show I'm making on, so I apologize for that. HOWEVER! With the help of my fellow friends Nixxiom and Moocluck, the project is coming along just fine. The script for episode one is more or less done, all that's left to do on it is to have one of our fancy meetings and discuss if there's need for adjustment.

Soon the process of editing will begin, which shouldn't take all too long. I can't say an exact date though, but soon!

The show will feature the characters on the image, Nixxiom, Mozq and Moocluck and more! Connecting our machinima worlds we have created together, the three idiots find themselves taking on a quest that's doomed to fail.. Or is it?

Stay tuned for more!

The Machinima Summit

Today was the first ever Machinima Summit!

What is a Machinima Summit, you might ask?  Well, it's simply a day when me, Mooclucking, and Mozq get all together in a Skype call and discuss our plans for future machinima videos.  Today, while questing in WoW and doing dungeons, we discussed the future of our channels, videos we can make together, and the opportunity to set up our own private recording server for us, and perhaps other machinimators, to work on.  A combination of in game recording and model viewer, really.

So far we've come up with a lot of great ideas for the future.  A storyline, a cast of characters, and plenty of jokes and serious content to entertain any viewer.  I really want to spoil some of our plans, but alas, I cannot.  All I can say is that is has to do heavily with our good friend who appeared at the end of "The Day of the Cataclysm."

So what're we working on currently?

Mozq is still working on his first episode that re-introduces his character into the machinima fold.
Mooclucking is working on a test video to improve his skills in After Effects.
I, Nixxiom, and still working on The Dog and the Bear which is just about to hit 8 minutes in length.

Look forward to all of our projects in the near future.  Stay tuned!

What's up, Nixxiom?

I admit that I've been a bit inactive lately when it comes to the machinima field.  I haven't been editing so much as I've been preoccupied with school as well as dealing with issues at home.  Currently my folks are threatening to get a divorce and my grandmother (bless her) has passed away.  Although these times are difficult to me and I have a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders, I haven't forgotten about my projects, nor my editing.  I am still working here and there but I've been somewhat inactive is all.

Recently as well my girlfriend found out that her grandmother has passed away as well so today I spent the afternoon and evening giving to her what comfort I could.  I ask any prayers you have to be with her and her family.  She's a strong lassie though and is keeping herself together quite well.  I'm very proud of her!

Right now I'm still working on "The Dog and the Bear" which, honestly, if I can get a good day or two of work in I can finish it.  There's still lots to do and VA to get, but I'm pleased with it thus far, I suppose.  It's not "The Demon Hunter" in terms of action, but rather it's a druid sharing a story that I think some of my more less-action-focused audience will appreciate.  Stay tuned for more updates on it, everyone!  It will be out soon.

Moocluck, watcha doing?

Hello internet! It's me Moocluck, the rather new and amateur machinimater.

I'm blogging here to let you folks know that a new machinima will be uploaded to my channel in the next couple of days.

It has been a whole month since I last uploaded a video. The previous video I uploaded was Mr. Mogu Dance! A video that I made in roughly an hour for a video commenter who wanted to know what a Mogu dancing looked like. I think it made him happy.

Now, this new video. Why has it taken so long to make when my last took only one hour? A simple answer: I wanted to improve. (The quality that is). Currently on my channel I have twelve videos, and of those twelve, eight are machinmas. So far, I cannot say I am overly happy with the quality of my own videos, Cooking with Thunder is probably the video I am most proud of so far, but I would not say it is a masterpiece. Which is why I am attempting to up my game!

I mentioned in my first blog how I want to be a machinimater known for my editing skills as well as my humour. I am learning now, that if you want to become a good editor, it is going to take a lot of time, but more importantly, patience. (Something Mozq and Nixxiom must have in abundance, god dammit guys!)
Editing machinima is extremely repetitive and I have the highest amount of respect for anyone who can see a high quality project through to the end.

So why am I talking about this?

I want to be able to finish a project, upload it to the internet and be able to watch it and go: "Yeah, I'm proud of that. I put a lot of work into that, I worked my balls off for that to look good!". My resources are limited, gosh I'm even using Adobe Premiere Elements for most of my editing, but I still feel I can deliver a quality of machinima that at least I can be happy and proud about.

In short: I have limited resources, but I think I can push them to make good quality machinima. Which is why this video has taken a little longer than usual to make. I want it to be good!

Mr. Nixxiom has been showing me the ropes, a few editing tips, showing me how to access Blizzard sound files, letting me shout into a microphone like some kid who has just hit puberty for: The Day of the Cataclysm. Stuff like that. Thanks dude!

Now enough about me and what I'm doing, let's look at a couple of screens!

Look I put shadows and some depth of field in there! Isn't that nice?

An angry or happy Orc? You decide...

Still a bit of editing to go, but it's almost finished and I'm feeling pretty happy with it so far. Keep an eye on my channel for the new video. I will also link it here on the blog for those interested.
Until next time guys!

The Day of the Cataclysm

It's the release date of Cataclysm and Deathwing has come to destroy Stormwind!  We've seen the cinematic, but there was a lot that Blizzard left out that I feel needed to be shown.  Here is what -REALLY- happened on the day Cataclysm was released.  Be sure to watch to the very end.  You might find something after the 'credits':

It's not always about video editing...

People always ask me how I personally get started with a new machinima videos.  They always want to know the step-by-step process of how things progress from square one to the release.  I always tell them:  It starts with an idea; nothing more.  Sometimes rather then video editing I spend my time writing more into the characters I first created within my roleplay on WoW.  Nixxiom, Ashevn, Astral, and so forth.  In order to bring these characters to life within my head, I usually will listen to a particular song or draw an image of them.  In this case, I've drawn Astral who will be appearing in future videos on "Nixxiom and Mozq Machinima."

You Gotta See This...

Glady, over at Warcraft Movies, has made a video inspired and based off of NARIS episode 2, Beowulf.  He/She claims to be an aspiring machinimator and the episode was used as a framework for his After Effects editing.  Needless to say I was very honored and impressed with how well the piece turned out; although I was a bit disappointed to not hear the little murloc say:  "I'm about to go alllll Beowulf and shit on this dragon!"  Keep up the great work Glady!  I'm looking forward to seeing more machinima from you in the near future!

Update!

What is this you might ask? Well It's my new/comeback project! I won't tell you what it is just quite yet. But let's just say it has more of a comedy approach and it's going to be a lot longer than my previous work hopefully. I havn't quite decided the length of the project, depends really.

I havn't figured out a name for it yet either, but no rush. I just started editing this piece today, but I've been writing a script for it for the last couple of days. It will feature characters you will recognize, such as myself, Nixxiom and Mooclucking and more!

What could possible go wrong when you put these three together? Who knows..? Do we want to know?

I'll be bringing you more soon!

2000 Subscribers? A Giveaway, perhaps?

Over the past few days "Nixxiom Machinima" has exploded in new subscribers which has left me, to say the least, speechless.  One minute we were passing 1500 and now we're going on 1800.  What happened!?  Well, I'm not complaining!  Keep sharing, keep liking, and keep hitting that favorite button, everyone.  Many thanks!

In this regard I've actually been considering what to do at 2000 subscribers.  Most Youtubers would celebrate with a special video but I would personally like to do a giveaway of some kind.  It doesn't have to be material like a keyboard or mouse, but rather it could just be an idea.  Have your idea turned into a video, perhaps?  Who knows?  Either way, doing a giveaway is something I'm strongly thinking of doing to celebrate 2000 subscribers.  You guys support us and thus we will support you!  I can't say we're filthy rich and can give away a million dollars worth of Razer gear, but we'll do what we can!

Stay tuned for more updates from me and Mozq.  This is something we'll discuss once he returns home from his folks' home.  Do you have any ideas though?  Feel free to leave them in the Discussion section of the Youtube channel.  There I will read them and hear what you, the audience, has to say.  Who knows?  Maybe I have something planned already and the first person to post an idea will automatically win.  We'll see!

Meet the Machinimators - Moocluck

Hello there folks. I'm Moocluck and I'm the newbie here at Machinima Zone. I have been making short Machinimas for a few months now. My usual genre is comedy, in fact, all my videos so far have been comedies. They either poke fun at the lore characters of World of Warcraft or the player community. Nobody escapes my mocking gaze. No one!

I'm looking forward to working with the fellas here at Machinima Zone, in fact, Nixxiom has already been giving me pointers on how to make good Machinima. I'm hoping that I'll be able to learn from this and become a machinimator known for my editing as well as my sense of humour.

What else can I quickly say about myself? I'm British. I'm a Wrath baby. My favourite class is Warlock (Dark magic is too much fun). In my spare time I enjoy punting marmots, long walks along the Stranglethorn coast and incinerating Blood Elves. I also have a really cute butt.

Some of my videos are:

Summon!

Cooking with Thunder

I'm looking forward to working with everyone here at Machinima Zone! Be sure to check back and keep an eye on updates. I will be working with the guys here on collaborations as well as my own goofy comedy videos. So stay tuned!

Much love!

Nixxiom's Projects: The Dog and the Bear - Cataclysm Sucked (Name in Debate)

The Dog and the Bear

After the release of "The Demon Hunter" I mentioned in the description that there would be a sequel to the Demon Hunter called:  "The Druid."  When I began work on The Druid, however, I felt that the title character Ashevn was a little bit too suddenly exposed into the spotlight.  What I mean is there wasn't really any room in the script for the character to be properly introduced.  Who is he?  How does he think?  What is he all about?
The Dog and the Bear is my answer to this.  Although I originally intended for the machinima to a be a short video, it actually has become quite large.  At five minutes already and not even half way done, this piece could very well end up being around 10-12 minutes long at completion.  Epic stuff, really!  I think the best part about The Dog and the Bear is the fact that the video will leave a bit of a thought provoker in the head of the audience.  Who is the Dog?  Who is the Bear?

Here's a single still from the video:

Cataclysm Sucked (Name in Debate)

Cataclysm sucked.  You know it and I know it.  The lore was silly, the patches were few and far between, and the content of the expansion just didn't satisfy.  This video isn't one where I talk about the issues with Cataclysm though, but rather it's just a fun comedy set in the period of early Cataclysm when Deathwing first attacks Stormwind.  You may be familiar with the line:  "I'm about to go all Beowulf and shit on this Dragon!"  It may make a cameo.
Cataclysm Sucked is mostly centered around King Varian and how he has to deal with his burning city but will also feature Nixxiom as he comes in to try and save the city from the ramaging madness of the Earth Warder.  What happens next is mystery.  So far the video is about 3 minutes long and I'm about 85% done, I'd say.  Almost finished!
I must also note that the video will feature the voice talents of not only myself but also Matt Greenburg and Mooclucking, a fellow WoW machinimator who is apart of this blog as well.  Mooclucking was born to play Stormwind guards, I must say.  Haha.

Here's a screenshot from the video thus far:

Looking forward to finishing both projects and seeing what you guys think of them!  Until my next post, I'll talk to you all later!

Meet the Machinimators - MOZQ

Hi everyone,
My name is Mozq, I'm a guy a from cold, cold Sweden. I've been making machinimas for quite a while now, recently had a year break after having my account hacked by silly gold farmers. But now I am back!

So how did I end up making Machinimas? Well lets just say that the day when I made my very first video, I was extreeemely bored and had too much time on my hands. And when I heard that the video got featured on WarcraftMovies.. I was sold. Right there and then my Machinima adventures began.

I too was connected to the server Dominion, just like Nixxiom. I saw one of his videos posted on the forum so I decided to contact him, maybe we could team up I thought. Which we ended up doing! Ever since then we've been making all sort of Machinimas together and our crew only grows stronger, getting more and more people involved.

Some of my work:

ESC4PE

MovieCraft

DiscoElevator

I was never into a specific genre of Machinima, but I believe from now on I've decided to make a lot more story Machinima, with some actual plot in it. A bit more serious so to speak. Anything from Comedy to drama, just a bit more work put into it. I've learned a lot since my last Machinima and I can't wait till I get to show it to you guys, but till then..

Stay tuned!

Meet the Machinimators - NIXXIOM

Hello there everyone.  My name is Nixxiom and I've been making machinima since early Burning Crusade in World of Warcraft.  During those days I was involved on a private server called Dominion WoW that one day held a video contest for advertising their server.  Well, I got involved, made a video, and I placed 2nd!  I was so proud that I continued to make more and more machinima until I became who I am today.

I'm am currently in school and during my down time or when I'm not studying for tests, I spend my time either reading, smoking my pipe, playing games, or working on machinima.

Some of my most popular videos include:

The Demon Hunter

And of course my series:  Not all Roleplay is Serious

I'm looking forward to doing much more machinima in the near future, as well as providing you all with the best possible entertainment that I can.  I have a dream to unite the machinima community and I feel it will start here right on Machinima Zone's blog.  Thank you all for the support thus far and for all your support to come!
